BiographyAmy Wood received a B.A. from Wesleyan University, an M.A. in Southern studies from the University of Mississippi, and a Ph.D. from Emory University in American studies. She teaches courses in American cultural history and Southern history. She specializes in the history of race and racial violence and the history of film and visual culture in the U.S, with a focus on the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Her book, entitled Spectacle and White Supremacy: Witnessing Lynching in America, 1880-1940 is forthcoming from the University of North Carolina Press. | ||||
