BiographyGeorgia Tsouvala is an assistant professor who is a specialist in Ancient History. She did her undergraduate work at Hunter College in New York, and received her Ph.D. in Classics from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Her research focuses on Imperial Greece in the first and second centuries C.E. More specifically, she studies epigraphy (inscriptions) and Plutarch (the first century biographer and essayist) as primary sources in order to understand ethnic, cultural, and gender identities in the Roman period of Greece. She teaches courses in Ancient Women, Western Civilization, and Greek and Roman history. She also coordinates and leads short-term study abroad trips to Greece and Rome. | |
