BiographyKirstin Hotelling Zona is an associate professor of English. She teaches modern poetry and poetics and creative writing. She is the author of the book Marriane Moore, Elizabeth Bishop, and May Swenson: The Feminist Poetics of Self-Restraint (U Michigan Press, 2002), and eidtor of Dear Elizabeth: Five Poems and Three Letters to Elizabeth Bishop from May Swenson (Utah State University, 2000). Her poems and essays have appeared in a variety of magazines, journals, and anthologies. In 2005 she was awarded the Stover Prize from the Southwest Review for her poem "Riptide." She is currently at work on a book of criticism about poetry and ethics as well as a poetry manuscript. Zona lives with her husband and two children in Bloomington and Machiasport, Maine. | |
