BiographyMaura Toro-Morn, associate professor of sociology, teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on the intersection of race, class, and gender. She also teaches an undergraduate course on the Latino experience in the U.S., among other courses. She is the co-editor of book entitled, Migration and Immigration: A Global View, (2004, Greenwood Press). She co-edited a special issue of Dialogo, the journal of the Center for Latino Research, at DePaul University in Chicago, focusing on the experiences of Latinas in the hemisphere. She has written and published numerous articles on the class and gender dimensions of Puerto Rican migration to Chicago. She is currently working on a second book manuscript, A Gendered View of Global Migrations. She received her Ph.D. from Loyola University of Chicago. | |
