BiographyShushan Avagyan is a Ph.D. candidate in English Studies. Her work focuses on representations of trauma and mourning in African American and Armenian American literatures. She is the translator from Russian of Energy of Delusion: A Book on Plot by Viktor Shklovsky (Dalkey Archive) and I Want to Live: Poems by Shushanik Kurghinian. She has published a novel in Armenian, Girk-anvernagir [Book-Untitled] and a trilingual collaborative memoir, (An)Taratsutian mej [In the (Un)Space] . Avagyan is also the co-founder of the Women’s Resource Center in Armenia, a non-governmental organization that advocates for and disseminates information on women’s rights in Armenia, and co-member of the Women-Oriented Women’s Collective, a group of international Armenian queer and straight women allies, artists, writers and activists. | |
