BiographyTom Gerschick earned his doctorate from the University of Michigan. Most of the courses he teaches address inequality, such as The Sociology of Gender, Graduate Seminar in Gender, and American Diversity: Contested Visions of the U.S. Experience.His research focuses on the intersection of gender and disability and the body in social life. His most recent publication is "Masculinity and Degrees of Bodily Non-Normativity in Western Culture," in the Handbook of Men and Masculinities, Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage (2004). | |
